Many of the PCOM General Surgery Residents are involved in clinical and basic science research projects. Their work has been published in various journals as well as presented at conferences and poster competitions. PCOM Residents are required to complete yearly academic projects and by the end of the 5-year program must submit a project that is suitable for publication. The PCOM General Surgery Residency Program curriculum does not incorporate a formal research year, but PCOM does the opportunity to work towards a Master of Clinical Science (M.Sc.) degree while undergoing residency training.
