The PCOM Surgery Club is officially named the "Daniel L. Wisely Surgical Association", after a former Chief of the PCOM Department of Surgery. This organization is the local chapter of SOSA: the Student Osteopathic Surgery Association which is the offical student section of the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons.

The PCOM Surgery Club holds many events throughout the year that give undergraduate medical students a chance to learn about different surgical subspecialties, practice hands on skills, attend lectures by residents & attendings and participate in clinical rounds in the hospital. Membership and active participate in the Surgery Club gives students a significant amount of exposure to what surgical training entails. Many members of the organization are not only interested in General Surgery or general surgery subspecialties but also other areas of surgery such as Urology, Neurosurgery, Orthopedic Surgery and ENT.

Involvement in the Surgery Club also provides students with an opportunity to expand their interests on a national level at the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons Annual Clinical Assembly. Many leaders in the PCOM Surgery Club have been officers in the National Chapter of SOSA.
