Aria Health - Frankford

113-bed facility with more than 11,000 inpatient and outpatient surgery cases per year, Aria Frankford exposes residents to the multiple socioeconomic issues surrounding an inner-city hospital where a large percentage of the patient population is uninsured. Junior level residents will work in a nightfloat system at Aria Frankford, covering all surgical patients in the hospital including the Intensive Care Unit. Due to the nature of the patient population and relative lack of healthcare in this area, residents have opportunities to identify and treat pathology that is not often encountered in other clinical training sites.

Aria Health - Torresdale

252-bed facility which is the largest campus in the Aria system, Aria Torresdale offers residents a chance to rotate through all surgical services including General Surgery, Vascular Surgery, Colorectal Surgery and Thoracic Surgery. Aria Torresdale is also the site of regional comprehensive cancer center and residents will also rotate on the Surgical Oncology service.

Aria Health - Bucks County

112-bed hospital located just outside Philadelphia, Aria Bucks Campus was formerly Delaware Valley Osteopathic Hospital and still maintains a large number of DOs in all areas of practice. Aria Bucks is a primary training site for osteopathic Family Practice, Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine and Orthopedic Surgery residency programs. PCOM General Surgery residents cover all surgical services at this campus with a combined case load of more than 75 cases per month.

Cooper University Hospital

This Level I Trauma Center with over 2,700 trauma admissions anually and a 16-bed state-of-the-art Trauma ICU is the busiest trauma center in the state of New Jersey. Residents are assigned to the Trauma Surgery service where they will participate in all trauma resuscitations, trauma operative cases and surgical critical care patient management. Cooper University Hospital is the site for one of the premier Surgical Critical Care Fellowship and Trauma Surgery Fellowship training programs on the east coast. General Surgery residents also work closely with PCOM Orthopedic Surgery and Neurosurgery residents.

CKHS: Crozer-Chester Medical Center

530-bed facility, Level II Trauma Center and Regional Burn Unit which performs more than 6,600 inpatient surgeries annually. PCOM General Surgery residents cover most of the surgical services in the hospital including Trauma Surgery, Burn Surgery, General Surgery, Vascular/Endovascular Surgery, Colorectal Surgery, Thoracic Surgery and the Shock Trauma Unit. Crozer is also the primary training site, along with Taylor Hospital and Delaware County Memorial Hospital for the PCOM Vascular Surgery Fellows.

CKHS: Taylor Hospital

151-bed community hospital located in the Philadelphia suburbs. Taylor Hospital offers residents an opportunity to attend office hours and work in the operating room with highly experienced general surgeons.

CKHS: Delaware County Memorial Hospital

246-bed facility consistently ranked as "Best Hospital in Delaware County". Residents rotate on the Vascular Surgery service and get a wide variety of open and endovascular cases which include both peripheral vascular surgery as well as aortic and carotid procedures. As of January 2011 DCMH is in the process of constructing a brand new endovascular surgical suite.

Roxborough Memorial Hospital

137-bed community hospital which is also affiliated with the PCOM Internal Medicine Residency Progam. Roxborough Memorial Hospital offers PCOM General Surgery Residents an opportunity to interact with many Attendings from PCOM as well as medical students who rotate through here on various services.

Deborah Heart and Lung Center

161-bed facility specializing in Cardiothoracic, Vascular and Endovascular surgery. Osteopathic Vascular and Cardiothoracic Surgery Fellows train here along with Osteopathic Cardiology Fellows. Surgeons at Deborah are pioneering new endovascular as well as minimally-invasive cardiac surgery techniques.

Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center

432-bed specialty cancer hospital located on the upper-east side of Manhattan. Residents will have the opportunity to rotate through various surgical onlcology services including: Thoracic Surgery, Head & Neck Surgery, Breast Surgery and Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Surgery. PCOM General Surgery residents have a designated apartment next door to the hospital at no cost to the rotating resident.

The Reading Hospital and Medical Center

672-bed hospital and Level II Trauma Center ranked among the top 5% of all hospitals in the national for overall clinical performance. TRHMC provides a wide variety of general surgery, vascular surgery, colorectal surgery and trauma surgery cases as well as an opportunity to work with Trauma & Critical Care Surgeons affiliated with the University of Pennsylvania Trauma Department.

The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia

430-bed facility which is the oldest and consistently one of the top-ranked pediatric hospitals in the country. Residents will work closely with Pediatric Surgery Attendings and Fellows participating in colorectal, vascular, hepato-pancreato-biliary, thoracic and fetal surgery. Residents will gain experience managing patients in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and as the only Pediatric Trauma Center in Philadelphia, residents will have an opportunity to learn management of a unique group of trauma patients.
