SOSA is the Student Osteopathic Surgical Association. This is the official student section of the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons (ACOS). The SOSA Chapter at PCOM is also known as the Surgery Club.
The PCOM Surgery Club holds many events throughout the year that give undergraduate medical students the chance to learn about the different surgical specialties, learn hands-on surgical skills, attend lectures from residents and attendings as well as participate in surgical teaching rounds at select hospitals. Membership and active participation in the PCOM Surgery Club gives a student the best chance to get exposure to all that surgical training entails.
The PCOM Surgery Club encompasses more than just General Surgery. There are many members who are interested in Orthopedic Surgery, Urology, Otolaryngology, Neurologic Surgery and the General Surgery subpecialties.
